OUR STORY
On a farm with the name KLIPSOP - which means "Stone Soup" - we are a bunch of stones mixed into this aromatic soup. We have a mixture of skills and qualities like hotel management, journalism, landscaping, business management, property development, baking, hospitality, guiding, conservation AND skill development on this farm. BUT what warms our hearts and the KLIPSOP-POT the most, is a HAPPY CUSTOMER!
Yes, we are a local family, passionate about our area, eager to lead you to discover the rich textures of our world. We hereby invite you to come and indulge in the amazing natural beauty and wildlife, but also the wealth of traditional knowledge and skills of the people who have carved out an existence on and alongside the banks of the Okavango River, for centuries.

The name “ASKIESBOS” originates back to when the owners moved up from the desert of the Kalahari, and apologized by saying "askies bos" ("sorry bush" or "apologies bush" in Afrikaans) every time they removed a piece of lush forest to build their home. Shade was almost non-existent in the Kalahari and the nature and riverine forests were valued greatly.
Some guests also interpreted the name to mean to 'listen' to the forest, as if you are asking it to repeat itself: "Askies, bos? What are you saying? We are listening."
Ever since then we try to work in line with nature, conserving the natural forest.

Very nice hotel complex located directly on the Okavango Delta. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The jungle tents are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet is very varied and offers something for every taste. We had a very delicious dinner. The boat trip in the Okavango Delta is highly recommended; it was wonderful to enjoy the sunset and relax.

An affordable hidden gem. Really well maintained, nice big tents and a beautiful view.

Small complex with nice tents and fun outdoor pools. Not accessible, right on the Kavango. Nice little trails to get some movement on an otherwise autonomous holiday. Delicious food as a 3 course meal. Fridge in the tent. Own drinking water treatment to avoid even more rubbish, very rare in Botswana/Namibia.

A fantastic, quiet spot on the ground offers a place to relax. The tents are well equipped, even with a fridge and the shower and wash area is beautifully laid out outside and with natural materials. The general area is lovingly furnished and in the evening very stylishly lit. On the terrace you can enjoy a great dinner and breakfast overlooking the grassy landscape.

The manager took care of us from the arrival in the parking lot and provided us with valuable advice. The fire pit with chairs around it as well as the open dining area overlooking the river are gorgeous and have unique "bush TV". The glamping tents by the river are clean and equipped with everything you need. The outdoor sanitary area with a view of the nature a highlight. At night you can hear the hippos shouting in the river very close by. Great bird life all around. There is a well stocked honesty bar and a cozy elevated common area where you can sit comfortably and dry even in rainy weather and thunderstorms. Worth River Cruises, basket weave classes and Village Walk where the villagers are close to their way of life and customs. The food was first class! The young cook conjured up an excellent 3-course menu every evening. Breakfast excellent.

Beautiful location. Dozens of birds fly by here. Titi was a friendly host. We had a lovely dinner. The tent was spacious and wonderfully cool to sleep in. We enjoyed the boat trip and the visit to the villages.
